South Africa recovers well
PORT OF SPAIN, MARCH 20. South Africa recovered well in the final
session to finish the third day on 130 for two after Courtney
Walsh's double strike had reduced South Africa, 56 runs behind on
first innings, to 38 for two at the Queen's Park Oval on Monday.
Opener Herschelle Gibbs was unbeaten on 57 and Daryll Cullinan 41
not out.
With these two dismissals Walsh became the first player to take
500 Test wickets. Earlier an unbeaten 93 by West Indies
wicketkeeper Ridley Jacobs, just seven short of a maiden century,
served as a backdrop to the Jamaican veteran's feat.
