Blues FC posts two wins

KARAIKUDI, MARCH 20. Blues FC, K. Velangudi, registered two wins in the Sivagangai District Football Association `A' division league at the Alagappa University College of Physical Education ground here on Sunday. Blues beat New Land FC and Kalaivanar by identical 2-0 margins.

In another match, Kalaivanar FC beat Winners FC, Vairapuram 2-0. Karuppiah and Prabhakar scored.

In the `B' division matches, Vetrivinayagar FC, Manachai, met with mixed luck. The team had a 2-0 victory against Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, with Subramanian and Perumal finding the target, but the team lost to Chidambaram MC 1-2. For Vetrivinayagar, Dharmalingam was the scorer while Sundararajan and Babu bulged the net for Chidambaram MC.

The eight team `B' division league is almost at the finishing stage now. Golden Blues FC and Black Friends, Kottaiyur, lead the table with 14 points each. While Golden Blues finished its fixtures, Black Friends has one more match to play against Vetrivinayagar, which has 10 points to its credit.

Vetrivinayagar is also in contention as it has two matches left.
