De Silva dropped from one-day squad

DAMBULLA (SRI LANKA), MARCH 22. England hopes to complete its successful winter tour on a high note by winning the three-match one-day series against Sri Lanka which starts on Friday.

England has flown in five one-day specialists for the series, while Sri Lanka has left out experienced batsman Aravinda de Silva from its one-day squad and included batsman Indika de Saram and wicketkeeper Romesh Kaluwitharana.

The teams:

Sri Lanka (from): Sanath Jayasuriya (captain), Romesh Kaluwitharana, Marvan Atapattu, Mahela Jayawardena, Kumara Sangakkara, Russell Arnold, Indika de Saram, Tillekeratne Dilshan, Chaminda Vaas, Nuwan Zoysa, Kumara Dharmasena, Muttiah Muralitharan, Tilan Samaraweera, Akalanka Ganegama and Lanka de Silva.

England (from): Graham Thorpe (captain), Marcus Trescothick, Michael Vaughan, Graeme Hick, Alec Stewart, Craig White, Darren Gough, Andy Caddick, Robert Croft, Ashley Giles, Allan Mullally, Mark Ealham, Nick Knight, Andrew Flintoff and Mark Alleyne.

Umpires: Asoka de Silva and Lalith Jayasundera; Third umpire: Tyronne Wijewardene. Match referee: Hanumant Singh (India).
