Back with his pet theme
BOTTLES WERE crashing and water was gushing. The hero was trying
to overpower half-a-dozen thugs. The scene was being shot for the
film ``Dost'' produced by Lakshmi Movie Makers.
Director S. A. Chandrasekharan, known for his films on the
loopholes in the law is doing the film after some three years.
The film has Sarath Kumar, Parakash Raj and Raghuvaran in the
lead. ``People always expect something on law and judiciary for
me. I changed track for the sake of my son Vijai and did
`Rasigan', `Deva' and `Senthoorapandi'. Then I did `Once More'
with the thespian Sivaji Ganesan and Vijai. Now I have returned
to my familiar subject with `Dost','' said Chandrasekharan.
``The film is going to be another box office success,'' said
Sarath Kumar. ``An interesting social drama with the judiciary
and law as the backbone. You will see a different Sarath Kumar in
this film,'' he added.
There are three characters round which the story revolves. The
hero (Sarath Kumar) is an innocent, good person. The second one
is an opportunist (Raghuvaran) and the third is a man with
principles, played by Prakash Raj.
How they all get involved in the web of law and judiciary is
shown through interesting incidents. ``I have tried to highlight
the good aspects of the law and feel that the film has come out
well,'' the director said. The lead stars are happy that they
have been utilised well.
Others in the cast are Abirami, Vadivelu, `Nizhalgal' Ravi,
Vivek, Indu and baby Akshaya who is doing an important role. K.
S. Ravi Kumar is appearing in a guest role. Camera is cranked by
Vijay Milton, editing is by B. S. Vasu Salim and music has been
scored by Deva. Stunt has been handled by Jaguvar Thangam and art
by S.A.C. Ramki.
Valee has written the lyrics and R. Swaminathan the dialogue. S.
Chandrasekharan, of course, is in charge of story, screenplay and
direction.
