Vigilance panel to monitor mobile water supply

CHENNAI, MARCH 31. Metrowater has constituted a vigilance committee to ensure that mobile water supply reaches all areas.

Residents can directly reach the committee chairman, Mr. Apurva Varma (853 2505), vice chairman Mr. R. Rameswaran (853 5078) or members: Mr. V. Naini, SE, north (854 8536), Mr. V. Sivakumaran SE, central (851 7130), Mr. K. Vaithilingam, SE, south (854 7892), Mr. Radhakrishnan, EE, headquarters (859 4684), Mr. C. Jayakanthan, VO (857 1569), Mr. Kanagaraj, Lorry Owners Association (474 0507), Mr. M. B. Nirmal, Exnora (828 3366) and Mr. S. Gunasekaran, committee secretary (853 4444 extn 227).

Apart from this, Vigilance sub-committees have also been formed at the Area level with the Area Engineer as chairman. They also can be contacted for supply-related problems.

Metrowater will extend the sewage collection scheme to Jai Balaji Nagar. The Rs. 3.93 crore scheme will cover 205 streets and benefit about 65,000 residents. Work will commence in June and end eight months later.
