The week ahead

ARIES (March 21 - April 19) is the first month of the agriculturally-based zodiac calendar. The first Full Moon of the zodiacal year, which occurs this year when the Moon enters Libra on Sunday, April 8, has long been considered a sacred moment in esoteric systems. It represents the most auspicious moment for planting new seeds, for new beginnings, and for freeing oneself from old habits and structures. The Aries-Libra Full Moon corresponds with the Festival of Passover in the Hebrew Calendar and the first Sunday after the Full Moon corresponds with Easter in the Christian. Whether or not you observe a holiday, know that you are entering a sacred time in which you have the opportunity to resurrect an aspect of yourself.

Queries Answered

Budha, Lord of 3rd and 6th in the 12th with the Sun. Can combustion, debilitation and being in the 12th nullify the malefic character of Budha?

R. Subramaniam, Bangalore-32.

MERCURY (Budha) is lord of 3 and 6 for Mesha Lagna. His placement in Meena in the 12th house, along with the sun, is not bad. Lords of Dusthanas occupying 6 or 8 or 12 is good, and their bad effects are nullified. The combination of Mercury and the sun is called "Nipuna" Yoga/ "Budha-Adithya" Yoga giving rise to beneficial results likely to show during their respective Dasas and Bhuktis.

The position of the lord of Meena viz. Jupiter must also be verified for further assessment of the chances of benefit. If there is Neechabhanga Raja Yoga through Jupiter's being exalted or being placed in a Kendra from Moon, those chances will get strengthened even more.
