By Our Staff Correspondent

MYSORE, APRIL 8. Two children died after consuming poison given by their mother, who mistook it for medicine, near Bilikere on Saturday night.

Police said Devamma of Mudalakoppal in Bilikere Hobli gave a bottle containing poison to her daughters, Lakshmi (11) and Rashmi (9), in the darkness and asked them to drink it. They died instantly.

Realising her mistake, Devamma too consumed poison. She was admitted to K.R. Hospital in the city in critical condition.

The Bilikere police have registered a case.
