Tributes to Ambedkar

NEW DELHI, APRIL 14. The Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari
Vajpayee, and the Lok Sabha Speaker, Mr. G.M.C. Balayogi, today
paid floral tributes at the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on his
110th birth anniversary in the Central Hall of Parliament House
today.
Among the dignitaries who paid floral tributes included the
Himachal Pradesh Governor, Mr. Suraj Bhan, Dr. Manmohan Singh,
Union Ministers Dr. Satya Narain Jatiya, Dr. Vallabhbhai
Kathiria, Mr. B.C. Khandoori, Mr. Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Mr. Hukumdeo
Narayan Yadav, Ms. Uma Bharti and Ms. Maneka Gandhi.
Mr. Madhavrao Scindia, Mr. K Yerran Naidu, Mr. Ahmed Patel, Mr.
S.P. Gautam, Mr. Ramdas Athawale, Mr. Rajiv Shukla, Mr. Bangaru
Laxman, Mr. Ashok Pradhan and Dr. Anita Arya, were among the MPs
who paid tributes. The Lok Sabha Employees Association today
celebrated the 72nd anniversary of the Lok Sabha secretariat in
Parliament House Annexe. The Speaker, Mr. Balayogi, who was the
chief guest, appreciated the work culture of the officers and
staff.
