Dewang Mehta's body arrives

NEW DELHI, APRIL 14. The body of the IT leader and NASSCOM president, Dewang Mehta, was flown here tonight by a Singapore Airlines flight.

The IT Minister, Mr. Pramod Mahajan, who accompanied the body, said ``it was the worst journey of my life when I had to accompany the body of my best friend.'' He announced that a suitable memorial would be set up as a mark of respect for Mehta. The Minister's son, Mr. Rahul Mahajan, and the Infosys chief, Mr. Narayana Murthy, were at the airport to receive the body.

Mehta's body will be kept at the Talkatora indoor stadium for public homage tomorrow before being cremated at the Nizamuddin crematorium.

The IT guru died of a massive heart attack on April 12 in his hotel room in Sydney.
