Panel submits report to Nepal Govt.

KATHMANDU, APRIL 14. A judicial panel has submitted to the Nepal Government a report on the riots that rocked the Himalayan Kingdom in late December over the alleged anti-Nepal comments by the film actor, Mr. Hrithik Roshan, an official said today.

The Home Secretary, Mr. Srikanta Regmi, said the appellate court judge, Mr. Govinda Kumar Shrestha, who headed the inquiry, handed the report yesterday to the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Ram Chandra Poudel.

Five people were killed in the police firing on demonstrators during the riots in which demonstrators had attacked and vandalised businesses owned by Indians or Nepalis of Indian origin during the weeklong mayhem.

The actor, however, denied making any remarks about Nepal.

``The Government will decide whether to make the contents of the report public after studying it,'' Mr. Regmi said.
