TMC-Congress seats list

CHENNAI, APRIL 14. The constituencies allotted to the Congress combine are Park Town, Purusawalkam, Thousand Lights, Chepauk, Triplicane, Villivakkam, Tambaram, Sriperumbudur (SC), Tiruvallur, Vellore, Chengam (SC), Thandrampattu, Cuddalore, Kattumannarkoil (SC), Mangalur (SC), Rishivandiyam, Hosur, Namakkal (SC), Coimbatore East, Coimbatore West, Thondamuthur, Valparai (SC), Coonoor (SC), Udhagamandalam, Tiruchi-I, Tiruchi- II, Karur, Thanjavur, Papanasam, Pattukottai, Peravurani, Nannilam (SC), Aranthangi, Madurai Central, Cumbum, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Karaikudi, Manamadurai (SC), Thiruvadanai, Paramakudi (SC), Kadaladi, Vasudevanallur (SC), Sathankulam, Nagercoil, Killiyoor.

Of these 47 seats, the Congress would contest 14 and agreed to offer Tiruchi-I to the IUML.

Barring the TMC's sitting seat of Nagercoil which was being claimed by the Congress, the seat-identification process has been finalised in the TMC-Congress camp.

According to sources, the 14 constituencies allotted to the Congress include the high-profile Chepauk, from where the Chief Minister and DMK president, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, is contesting, besides three reserved seats including Sriperumbudur, where former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated in May 1991.
