On a high, frightfully

NOT AGAIN! You think it's one of those nightmares that keep revisiting. Pinch yourself hard. "Uff..., I am not dreaming." Mustering courage you take a few tentative steps towards the gleaming swing doors. A vampire, his chest smeared with blood, waits there to usher in. Enough for you to instinctively reach a hand to the nape, isn't it?

Unsteady steps take you inside and the sight does send a chill or two down your spine. It's a ghost colony, if nothing else. The fiendish atmosphere is furthered with loud music that sounds more of an incantation. Like shadows, the ghosts, zombies and the spectres scurry past you in the subdued light. "It's not happening to me," you murmur, hoping to wake out of a bad dream. But then, it's Friday the 13th and you have entered the ghost zone. No voodoo parties, it's the popular city pub, `Outswinger' holding the Smirnoff Fright Nights.

The suppressed light, the throbbing music and the Halloween pumpkins in corners all added to a new experience at the pub. The staff was dressed in blood smeared milky whites, dreadful masks which were indeed scary. There were some guys dressed as alien creatures -- "I'm from Mars," one whispered -- who were busy replenishing the mugs at the bar counter.

Girls in a large number thronged as the crowd threatened to spill out of the pub which was spruced up for the occasion. For many, incredulity soon turned into fun with fiends and spirits appearing from nowhere to proffer the menu and wait for the order.

The event which is open till Sunday is definitely not for the weak hearts. And brave hearts, you know where to head for!
