INL to contest 3 seats in Madurai

MADURAI, APRIL 18. The Madurai urban district unit of the Indian National League (INL), owing allegiance to Mr. M. G. K. Nizamudeen, State president, has decided to field its candidates in the three Madurai constituencies.

In a resolution, a meeting of the office-bearers here decided to fight both communalism and corruption on its own.

According to a statement issued by Mr. M. Abuthahir, district secretary, the candidates for Madurai east, west and central will be announced in Chennai tomorrow. The INL unit felt that it was necessary to field candidates in these urban constituencies to secure reservation in employment for Muslims.
