Bacardi buys out Mauritius firm

BANGALORE: Bacardi International has announced that it had acquired American Beverages (Mauritius). Mr. Ruben Rodriguez, CEO of Bacardi, speaking from London, said, ``This acquisition represents a significant move towards expanding our business in Asia, and particularly in India and is reflective of our long- term commitment in the region." American Beverages (Mauritius) has 51 per cent shareholding in Whyte and Mackay India with Radico Khaitan as the local joint venture partner, a Becardi release said.
