Medical service centre opened

CHENNAI, MAY 4.One more passenger-friendly facility comes up in
the Chennai Central station. A free medical service centre to
attend to passengers for minor ailments was declared open today.
The centre, being run by Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation,
Chennai, will be manned voluntarily by eminent doctors on
rotation basis. Minimum essential drugs required for emergency
treatment are supplied free by the centre to the passengers. To
start with, the facility is available from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and
depending on passenger response, it will be extended in the
evening hours.
The Southern Railway General Manager, Mr. Ajit Kishore,
inaugurated the centre. Mr.T.G. Krishamurthi, state president,
Sri Satya Sai Seva Organisation, who presided said one doctor,
one pharmacist and two seva dal volunteers would be present at
the centre to attend to any emergency case. Immediate relief
medicines would be provided and the patient would be suitably
advised for further course of action.
