Airbus Industrie to use LCA software
By Our Staff Reporter
BANGALORE, JUNE 2. The aviation major, Airbus Industrie, has
chosen the composite software developed by the Light Combat
Aircraft (LCA) team for its A380 600-seater passenger aircraft,
the LCA Project Director, Dr. Kota Harinarayana, said today.
The Airbus Industrie was expected to sign an agreement later this
month with the Government to use the software, a spinoff of LCA
technologies, Dr. Harinarayana told presspersons here.
He said the Indian software was chosen after a 12- month
evaluation of similar software developed across the world. The
LCA software was developed by the team of Dr. Prakash and Dr.
Shastri.
Dr. Harinarayana said the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA),
the key constituent of the LCA project, was also looking for an
international partner for the composite software developed by its
scientists. Now the software is being marketed by the Parametric
Technology Corporation (PTC), a leading international CAD-CAM
company.
