Kanchi Acharya expresses grief
CHENNAI, JUNE 2. The Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Sri
Jayendra Saraswathi, today expressed deep grief over the
assassination of King Birendra and other members of the royal
family in Nepal.
In a statement here, the Acharya said the entire world was in
deep shock, as it had not heard of any such incident so far.
``The killing has only shown that violence can enact even
unbelievable things,'' he said, adding these type of incidents
could happen in any nation, where violence had raised its ugly
head.
King Birendra and his family were ardent devotees of the Acharya.
