Pak. Rangers open fire
JAMMU, JUNE 2. Pakistani Rangers opened fire at Indian border
outposts in Jammu, Akhnoor and Kathua sectors last night, but
caused no injuries or damage. Border Security Force troops
retaliated and the intermittent exchange of fire continued till
this morning.
In continuing violence in Kashmir, unidentified militants threw a
hand grenade on security forces at a bus stand in Kupwara but it
exploded near the fuel tank of a bus, killing two persons.
Several vehicles parked in the bus stand were damaged.
Militants kidnapped a National Conference leader, Abdul Sattar
Parray, from his house in central Kashmir early this morning and
shot him dead. A block president of the NC, who was shot at by
ultras here last evening, died in hospital.
