Former CM predicts change of Govt. in Pondy

By Our Staff Reporter

PONDICHERRY, JUNE 2. Mr. R. V. Janakiraman, convener of the Pondicherry unit DMK and former Chief Minister, has said in the next few days there would be a change of government in Pondicherry. With the blessings of the party president, Mr. M. Karunanidhi, the DMK, PMC and BJP would bring about the change, he said in a communication here on Saturday.

Mr. Janakiraman said the Assembly session should have been convened within this week but it had not been done. There was confusion in allotment of portfolios to the Ministers in the coalition government headed by the Congress, he said and added that one could see dissatisfaction among the Congress members ever since Mr. P. Shanmugham a non member assumed charge. The present government was indifferent to the problems of the people, the government staff and development activities, he alleged. Mr. Janakiraman appealed to the Lt. Governor, Dr. Rajani Rai, to immediately direct the government to prove its majority by convening the Assembly session.
