A date with the Ustad
He is Delhi's own, and a regular on the city's cultural calendar.
Still sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan's repertoire for this
Sunday morning at Nehru Park in Chanakyapuri will be something
seldom experienced by regulars of Delhi's cultural circuit.
For it is not very often that an artiste of his stature gets to
present morning ragas in concert. Which is exactly what the
Morning Ragas series of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)
has been offering to Delhiites once a month for the past two
years now.
This Sunday morning's session, the 27th of the Morning Ragas
series, with this maestro of the Senia-Bangash Gharana will begin
at 6-30 a.m. and last two hours -- come rain or sunshine as
experience so far has shown.
