PM condition stable
By Our Special Correspondent
MUMBAI, JUNE 8. The condition of the Prime Minister, Mr. Atal
Behari Vajpayee, remained stable today, a day after undergoing
knee-joint replacement surgery at the Breach Candy hospital here.
Dr. F.E. Udvadiya, senior doctor of the hospital, said in a
medical bulletin that ``Mr. Vajpayee was fully alert and took
liquid diet''. His surgeon, Dr. Chittaranjan Ranawat, visited him
late in the afternoon and found the progress satisfactory. The
Prime Minister was made to sit on the bed for a while. Nobody was
allowed to visit him.
