Pak. condemns arrest
By Muralidhar Reddy
ISLAMABAD, JUNE 15. Pakistan today alleged that the arrest of the
Hurriyat leaders and incidents of increased violence by the
security forces in Kashmir demonstrated that New Delhi continued
to ``rely on brutal use of force to suppress the just struggle of
the Kashmiri people.''
It is for the second time in a week that the Pakistan Foreign
Office has issued a strongly-worded statement on the developments
in Kashmir. The last statement was made when a bomb exploded
inside the Charar-e-Sharief shrine.
The statement also deplored the announcement by Indian
authorities yesterday that they would not spare religious places
in their effort to suppress the ``Kashmir freedom movement.''
