'Stop Bajrang Dal arms training'
By Our Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI, JUNE 15. The Congress and the Communist Party of India
(CPI) today demanded that the Government immediately stop the
arms training being given by the Bajrang Dal to its activists.
If the Government did not take steps to put an end to this
``dangerous game'' it could become a precedence for other
organisations, the Congress said. It alleged that in the name of
fighting against the ISI, the outfit was building its private
militia. ``The Bajrang Dal, with the support of the Uttar Pradesh
Government, is starting a dangerous game in this country. Both
the Bajrang Dal and the Bharatiya Janata Party are playing with
fire,'' the party spokesperson, Mr. S. Jaipal Reddy, said.
Expressing similar views, the CPI central committee, in a
statement, said the Uttar Pradesh Government guest house was
being made available for the training. The statements being made
by the Bajrang Dal were not only provocative but also meant to
intimidate those who oppose their aggressive Hindutva agenda, the
CPI said.
