Jatiya's assurance to Indians in U.K.
LONDON, JUNE 16. The Union Labour Minister, Mr. Satyanarayan
Jatiya, has assured the Indian community in the United Kingdom
that efforts would be undertaken to look into their difficulties.
Mr. Jatiya, during his meeting on Friday with prominent members
of the Indian community in Birmingham, listened to their
difficulties and assured them that he would convey these to the
concerned authorities in New Delhi so that necessary action was
taken to ameliorate the hardships.
Members of the Indian community abroad, who spoke on the
occasion, wanted the presence of NRIs in Parliament. Mr. Jatiya
took the opportunity to apprise the gathering of the efforts
undertaken by his Ministry to look into the difficulties being
faced by workers back home in India.
He thanked the Indian community for the financial and material
assistance extended by them for providing relief to victims of
Orissa super cyclone and the Gujarat earthquake.
