Orchid unveils health portal

CHENNAI, JUNE 16. Orchid Healthcare, the formulations division of Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, is launching its comprehensive health portal - Healthorchid.com -on June 17.

Addressing presspersons, Dr. C. B. Rao, Deputy Managing Director, Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, said the health portal was the first multi-objective `information-education-business' portal from a pharmceutical company. The portal would address the needs of the medical practitioner, the consumer and the pharmaceutical business community in general. It would offer a platform for communication among healthcare professionals and between medical practitioners and patients.

Mr. Rao said ``Our mission was to build a futuristic web enabled e-business platform for Orchid pharmaceutical presence and corporate development.'' The whole range of services from B2B to B2C would be offered by the portal, he added.

The development of the portal has been entrusted to Satyam Computer Services to harness the best of Internet technologies and software engineering capabilities.
