Russia warns U.S.
NEW YORK, JUNE 19. The Russian President, Mr. Vladimir Putin, has
said Moscow would upgrade its strategic nuclear arsenal with
multiple warheads if the U.S. went ahead with its planned nuclear
missile shield, sparking a nuclear arms race, New York Times said
today.
Responding to the comments made by the U.S. National Security
Advisor, Dr. Condoleezza Rice, that the U.S. would proceed with
missile defence with or without Russia, Mr. Putin said, ``we
offer our cooperation. We offer to work jointly. If there is no
need that such joint work is needed, well, suit yourself.'' - PTI
