Honda Accord to be launched soon

CHENNAI, JUNE 19. Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. (HSCI), a formidable player in the upper end of the Indian car market, will be introducing a luxury marvel `Honda Accord' in India soon.

An international leader in its category, Accord would belong to the upper end of the luxury segment or the `D' segment of the Indian car industry, according to a company release.

The launch also marks HSCI's entry into the high-end luxury segment in the country.

According to the release, the all-new sixth generation Accord would represent the essence of this quest, with a distinct thrust on excellence in luxury aspects.

Accord has been routinely named among the top performers in various car rankings, says the release. Since its first introduction in 1976, more than one crore units have been sold over 130 countries. The car is at present produced in the U.S., the U.K., Taiwan, Mexico and six other countries.

Accord has a 23 per cent market share in the ASEAN region, the largest market share in its segment.
