First solar eclipse of millennium sighted


LUANDA, JUNE 21.The first solar eclipse of the millennium was sighted in Angola today as the moon began casting its shadow across the sun over southern Africa.

The phenomenon coincides with the shortest day of the year for the first time in 353 years.In the picture, the sun peeks out from behind the moon in the ``diamond ring'' effect.
