Advani gesture

NEW DELHI, JUNE 21. The Home Minister, Mr. L.K. Advani, has sanctioned Rs. 1 lakh for Mrs. Savita Ambedkar, nonagenarian wife of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, who has been suffering from health and financial problems. The amount was sanctioned from the Home Minister's discretionary grant.

Mr. Advani has written to the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh, urging him to consider her case for granting family pension from the State Government keeping in view her stature and dignity.
