By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, JUNE 21. The second batch of 120 members of Rakshaks
and Blue Colts of West Zone, comprising Inspectors, Sub-
Inspectors and constables, on Thursday completed the basic first-
aid training course to help victims of road accidents.
At a function held at the Apollo Hospitals, the Police
Commissioner, Mr. P. Ramulu, gave away certificates and mementoes
to the `Life Savers', as they have been named. Mr. Ramulu said he
had been receiving enquiries about Blue Colts and Rakshaks from
other State police chiefs.
The Joint Commissioner, Capt. C. Ratna Reddy, said the policemen
were trained to be courteous to the public. The Deputy
Commissioner (West Zone), Mr. Umesh Shraff, said his team would
shoulder its new responsibilities.
The Director of Medical Services, Apollo Hospitals, Dr. S.S.
Reddy, said they had worked for about a year preparing the
groundwork for short-term and long-term courses in trauma care
for the `Life Savers'.
