Andy Flower out for six weeks
HARARE, JUNE 21. Andy Flower will miss his first one-day
international for Zimbabwe in nine years.
Andy Flower was ruled out of the triangular series on Thursday
due to a dislocated right thumb. The injury was suffered on the
fourth day of the second Test here.
From the time he made his debut for Zimbabwe at the 1992 World
Cup in Australia, Andy Flower has not missed a Test or a one-day
international. He has represented Zimbabwe in 172 one- day
matches and 53 Tests.
Andy Flower returned this morning from Johannesburg after seeing
a specialist, who ruled him out for six weeks. ``I miss my first
ever Test,'' said a dejected Andy Flower.
After the triangular series, Zimbabwe meets the West Indies for a
two-Test series with the first match scheduled at Bulawayo from
July 19.
``I'll be there to watch the games and cheer my mates,'' said
Andy Flower with a smile as he joined his teammates for a view of
the solar eclipse at Andy Whittal's house.
