RS polls in T.N. on July 23

NEW DELHI, JULY 2. The Election Commission today announced that
biennial elections to six seats from Tamil Nadu for the Rajya
Sabha would be held on July 23. The notification will be issued
on July 6. The last date for filing nominations is July 13.
Scrutiny of nominations would be on July 14. The last date for
withdrawal of nominations is July 16.
Six members - Ms. Jayanti Natarajan (TMC), Mr. V.P. Duraisamy
(DMK), Mr. O.S. Manian (AIADMK), Mr. R. Margabandhu (AIADMK), Dr.
D. Masthan and Mr. N. Rajendran (both Independents), are due to
retire on July 24.
