Two hurt in car bomb blast
By Our Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD, JULY 4. Two persons were injured when a bomb, placed
inside the car belonging to a newly elected Congress candidate
for the Ginnaram Mandal Territorial Parishad Territorial
Constituency (MTPC) in Medak district, went off on Wednesday
morning under Dundigal police station limits.
The car, a Toyata Qualis, belonged to Mr. Pratap Reddy of
Bolarum village. The police said that a bomb was put in the
engine of the car of Mr. Pratap Reddy on Tuesday night when it
was in the garage of his house.
Though Mr. Reddy himself was to drive the car, in the last
moment he asked a gram panchayat member, Mr. Ramulu, 30, to take
the car for servicing. On the way, Mr. Ramulu picked up Mr.
Yadagiri, 32, a party worker, and they stopped near a chemical
factory for making a call.
Later, when they started the car they noticed smoke coming out
of the engine and within no time there was a blast, seriously
injuring both occupants. They were shifted to Gandhi Hospital.
