A cool time for kids
DOING THINGS together makes all the difference. That is what 'The
Activity', an organisation working with schools, tries to achieve
through its interactive programmes and cultural events, which
provide school children ample opportunities to display their
talents. Committed to the all-round personality development of
students, the organisation works with schools country-wide and
has branches in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune.
The focus is on activities beyond the curriculum and all-round
personality development by providing the right environment. And
this is made possible through training progammes in life skills
for students, teacher empowerment workshops and most important,
an annual inter-school library and cultural festival.
'ACTIVITY 2001', a literary and cultural fete, to be held on July
12 and 13 at Kamaraj Arangam, in the city, will feature 40
different literary, musical, dance, speaking, creative and art
competitions for students from Standards I to XII.
Students can participate in a host of activities which are
categorised thus - 'Talent Activity' which includes a fashion
show, and selection of Mr./Ms. Activity; 'Dance Activity'
featuring Indian group dance; 'Singing Activity' comprising
Western music, Indian film hits and Antakshari; 'Speaking
Activity' which spots the debating, and oratorical skills of
students; 'Literary Activity' consisting of quiz, dumb charades,
writing poems and news reporting; 'Art and Design Activity' where
students can participate in painting, cartooning, sketching, clay
modelling, craft, pot painting, making greeting cards, flower
arrangement, vegetable carving, jewellery and mehendi design and
collage and poster design.
There are quite a few fun activities too such as face painting,
hairstyling, tattooing, bindi and nail polish design, garment and
trophy design and cookery and photography.
With certificates for all participants and trophies for the
winning entries in every category, students can really look
forward to a 'kool skool fest.' For registration and enquiries
