Made-in-India PCs from IBM

NEW DELHI, JULY 5. IBM India today announced the launch of its made-in-India PCs for the consumer market. Manufactures in IBM's Pondicherry plant, the ``NetVista i'' has been priced at Rs. 36,000 upwards.

Speaking at a news conference here today, the IBM India CEO, Mr. Abraham Thomas, said the products - aimed at the consumer segment, the fastest growing segment in the industry - will be sold through the company's partners and via IBMShop, the on-line store. He said the ``aggressive'' entry level price was aimed at capturing the Indian market.

The range is available in five different models, all of which are targeted at the SOHO segment.
