All about friendship
SUPER GOOD Films' ``Punnagai Desam'' is based on friendship.
Shajahan, who makes his debut as director, was assistant to
Vikraman. The banner's first film, ``Puthu Vasantham,'' was
directed by Vikraman. In fact almost all the assistants of
Vikraman have started their careers with Supergood Films - K. S.
Ravikumar, Rajakumaran, Lingusamy and now Shajahan. Producer R.
B. Chowdry says that the next one to get a break would be
Ravishanker, another assistant of Vikraman.
Explaining the title, Shajahan said, ``We should do unto others
what we want them to do unto us. When this happens, the entire
world would be a smiling one. That is the message the film will
convey. Producer Chowdry thought the story did not require
popular stars. So the main stars in the film are all new comers.
For instance Tharunkumar, Pritha Vijayakumar and Amsavardhan.''
All of them are the offspring of popular stars. Tharun Kumar is
the son of Rojaramani, Amsavardhan is the son of Ravichandran and
Pritha is the daughter of Vijayakumar.
In this film, four friends live together as a family making
sacrifices for each other. This is told in an entertaining way
with all the ingredients like songs, dance and humour.
The artistes include Kunal, Dhamu, Malaysia Vasudevan,
Vijayachandrika, `Nizhalgal' Ravi, Vadivukkarasi, Madan Bob, Vinu
Chakravarthi, `Pasi' Sathya, Mayilsamy, Krishna and Sabitha
Anand.
The film is cranked by S. Mathi, music is scored by S. A.
Rajkumar, art is taken care of by Remy, editing is done by V.
Jaishanker, dance is choreographed by Tharun Kumar, Raju Sundaram
and Kool Jayanth. Produced by R. B. Chowdry the film's story,
screenplay, dialogue and direction are by K. Shajahan.
