Narrow escape for passengers

NEW DELHI, JULY 8. The Jet Airways flight 9W 821, bound for
Chennai with 63 passengers onboard, had an aborted take-off this
morning following discovery of a snag.
According to the airline, the B 737-800 aircraft was just
starting its take-off roll at around 6.50 a.m. when it was
noticed that some white vapour was filtering into the cockpit and
cabin through the airconditioning ducts. Immediately, Captain
Ajay Kukreja decided to abort the take-off. All the six emergency
exits were opened and the passengers, including an infant, were
deplaned and rushed to the terminal where they were offered first
aid and refreshments.Later, the airline rerouted its flight 9W
301 from Mumbai to Delhi to carry the stranded passengers to
Chennai.
