Do not harm Amarnath yatris, appeals Hizb
SRINAGAR, JULY 8. The Kashmiri militant outfit, Hizb-ul-
Mujahideen, today appealed to the other militant outfits to
declare the Amarnath Yatra route as ``safe''.
``We appeal to the other militant outfits not to indulge in any
act along the Amarnath route which will provide a handle to the
Indian forces to harass innocent people under the pretext of
providing security to the pilgrims,'' a Hizb-ul spokesman,
Mujahid Masood, said in a statement here.
He said all militants must make sure that their actions do not
allow the enemy to launch ``negative propaganda against our
freedom struggle''.
As many as 23,706 pilgrims had `darshan' of Lord Shiva at the
cave shrine till this morning, official sources said here today.
