Saddam sees 'wicked' anti-Iraq plan

BAGHDAD, JULY 8. The Iraqi President, Mr. Saddam Hussein, has said the U.S. and Britain are now looking for new `wicked' plans against Iraq after their efforts to overhaul an 11-year-old U.N. sanctions regime failed.

Separately, the official news agency INA said Iraq was conducting talks with the United Nations on a memorandum that would enable it to resume oil exports under the ``oil-for-food'' programme for another five months.

Mr. Saddam Hussain was quoted by Iraqi newspapers today as saying: ``The unjust (rulers) who rely on vicious power...will look for more wicked methods (against Iraq).

``They will be defeated as they were defeated in previous battles,'' he said, alluding to the U.S. and Britain. Mr. Saddam Hussain accused some Arab rulers, in clear reference to the Saudis and Kuwaitis, of financing ``wicked'' plans against Iraq.``Instead of correcting their behaviour they are giving more money to them (U.S. and British rulers) in order to search for new wicked methods against Iraq.''
