Plight of officers
Sir, - Why are so many IAS officers kept waiting without any
postings? If the present Government finds their work
unsatisfactory, they must either suspend them, or if they have
committed any offence, they should be penalised or if they have
no work in Tamil Nadu, they should be reverted to the central
pool.
Mr. Uma Shankar, Collector, Thiruvarur district, is among the
best and was a pioneer in e-Governance in the State. He was
invited by foreign organisations to participate in e-Governance
seminars, but has not been granted permission to participate by
the present Government neither has he been given a posting. Is
not this a waste of talent and waste of the tax-payers money? Is
he being victimised because he exposed the cemetery shed scam of
the then AIADMK Government?
R. Nagarajan,
Kumbakonam, T.N.
