Chiranjeev finishes joint third
NEW DELHI, JULY 8. Sustaining his superb run on the Japanese
Tour, Chiranjeev Milkha Singh carded a three-under 69 to finish
at the joint third spot in the Jyuken Sangyo Hiroshima Open at
the Hiroshima Country Club in Hiroshima on Sunday. With an
aggregate of 11-under 205, the Chandigarh- based pro managed his
third straight top-four finish on the Japanese Tour. The
tournament was won by Japan's Keiichiro Fukabori, who edged past
country-mate Mashahi Ozaki in the play- off. Earlier, Fukabori
fired in three birdies in the last three holes to catch up with
Ozaki for a tally of 203.
About his performance, Chiranjeev said, ``It was another solid
week for me. I played very well and had a good chance of winning
the title. But three top-four finish in three weeks is a dream
run and I hope it will continue for some more days.'' The
29-year-old Chiranjeev, watched by his father Milkha Singh, had
four birdies apart from one bogey on Sunday. The tournament was
decided on the basis of three rounds as second day's play was
washed out due to rain.
