Sangh Parivar hardens stand

NEW DELHI, JULY 9. Hardening its stand on the coming Indo- Pakistan summit, the Sangh Parivar today expressed apprehension that New Delhi may ``barter away'' Siachen and demanded that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) be wrested back from Islamabad, even by war, if necessary.

``We apprehend that Siachen may go to a third country (U.S.). No Government has the right to accede even an inch of Indian territory. India is not anybody's fiefdom that can be bartered way,'' the senior vice-president of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Acharya Giriraj Kishore, told reporters here.

``Our experience has been that despite its victories in war, India has always lost in talks. We want the Prime Minister to keep that in mind and not make liberal concessions,'' he said.

Terming as ``unacceptable'' the suggestion to convert the Line of Control (LoC) into the international boundary, he said the Government should endeavour to get back PoK. Expressing concern over the `hype' over the Vajpayee-Musharraf summit, the VHP leader reminded that Gen. Musharraf even refused to salute Mr. Vajpayee when the latter made his trip to Lahore.
