Posers to Jayalalithaa
Sir, - The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Ms. Jayalalithaa, owes the
people answers for the following questions. Is it not a breach of
propriety that the video film taken by the police during Mr.
Karunanidhi's arrest, an official document having evidential
value in a court of law, was permitted to be telecast exclusively
on a private channel?
Is it not against service rules for the police to defend their
actions in a case through the media? Does not the police IG's
assertion that his department will stand by the police officers
concerned when the Centre has demanded action against them amount
to a revolt against authority?
Will Ms. Jayalalithaa own full responsibility and resign if it
turns out that the police video had been doctored?
