Musharraf for joint press meet
By Our Special Correspondent
ISLAMABAD, JULY 10. The Pakistan President, Gen. Pervez
Musharraf, wants to address a joint press conference along with
the Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, at the end of the
Agra summit on July 16.
The Pakistan Information Secretary, Mr. Anwar Mahmood, and the
chief spokesman of the military, Maj. Gen. Rashid Quereshi, told
a news conference here today that there was no response yet from
India on Pakistan's request for the joint press meet.
Asked if there would be any joint declaration or statement at the
end of the summit, the officials said everything would depend on
the outcome of the discussions between Mr. Vajpayee and Gen.
Musharraf. They maintained that there was no `fixed agenda' for
the summit.
