BJP meet rescheduled again

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, JULY 11. The Bharatiya Janata Party's national executive committee meeting has been rescheduled once again and the plan to hold it in Amritsar has been given up.

The party president, Mr. Jana Krishnamurthi, today announced that the meeting would be held here from July 27.

Although officially it was stated that the dates had to be changed once again from August 3 to 5 as the `raksha bandhan' festival was falling on August 4, no reason was given for giving up the idea of organising it in Punjab.

It seems that keeping in mind the Prime Minister's convenience, the party decided to hold the meeting here. Since the session is being held in the midst of the monsoon session of Parliament, it would not have been feasible for the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister, Mr. L. K. Advani, to be away from Delhi for three days.

The formal agenda is yet to be drawn up but there will be no change in the earlier plan for adopting an economic resolution, a political resolution, and one covering the India- Pakistan summit and the recent developments in Nepal.
