Selfless and duty-bound
``DO YOUR duty and do not expect anything in return'' is the
theme of the movie ``Kamaraasu'', produced by Saanthi Vanaraja
movies.
The shooting was in full swing in Koovur, near Chennai, at a
small house. Murali, Laila, Vadivelu and ``Vennira Adai'' Nirmala
were in the shot which was being picturised by the director.
Factory owner Srividya is a widow. She has three children. Her
car driver Murali (Kamaraasu) lives in the place not only as her
driver but also as her son who takes care of the house. There
comes a situation when he is even ready to sacrifice his life for
her.
Director P. C. Anbazhagan, who was assistant to S. A.
Chandrasekaran (``Rasigan'' and ``Deva'') inspired by the life of
Mother Teresa, has chosen sacrifice as the theme. The screenplay
has twists and turns to sustain the interest of the viewer till
the last frame.
Producer N. Vanaraja who has now acquired the rights of the film
from R. B. Chowdry, says that the appealing story made him take
up the project. ``When the film was stopped due to unforeseen
circumstances I was upset. I told the director that I will take
on the project, and it was gracious on the part of R. B. Chowdry
to give the film to me. In fact I am producing the film with his
guidance only.''
``The highlight of the film is a walk on a one inch pathway at a
height of 200 feet above the ground in Kanyakumari, by a young
man. But I have used his expertise to show it as if it is done by
my heroine Laila''.
Murali says that the director has done his home work well.
Murali, Laila, Vadivelu, ``Vennira Adai'' Nirmala, Srividya,
Chandrasekar, Madan Bob, Anu Mohan, C. R. Saraswathi and master
Mahendran are in the cast.
Camera is handled by Selva R. Editing is done by Jaishanker.
Dances are choreographed by Sivashanker and Raju Sundaram. Music
is scored by S. A. Rajkumar. Lyrics are written by Mu. Metha,
Muthulingam, Kalidasan and Arivumathi.
Art is by Pugazh and the story, screenplay, dialogue and
direction are by P. C. Anbazhagan. The film is produced by N.
Vanaraja.
