Feast on kebabs
As temperatures dips and clouds gather, making the evenings ever
so pleasant, he is back and so are the hot hot succulent kebabs
with him.
An addiction it has become for the gourmets, if one may call it,
as the Green Park chef, Abbasuddin Ahmed, comes with his
delightful kebabs at regular intervals. This time he promises a
royal feast and a great evening for the entire family at the
Green Park lawns from July 13 to 17.
Beginning with a tall glass of lassi or `jal jeera' over sizzling
hot Shikampuri kebab or mouth-watering Tangri kebab, the
gourmet's journey has fresh stuffed `anda parathas', spicy
`kheema paratha', tempting Moghlai dishes, special varieties of
biryani, tasty curries, syrupy gulab jamoons, piping hot jalebis,
delectable desserts and many more delightful halts.
If the juices are flowing for the non-vegetarians, vegetarians
need not worry. They have a wide choice, which includes `Veg
Lagan ka Kebab' and the tempting `Paneer Tikka Lasooni'. They are
supplemented by a wonderful spread of salads. As you taste the
mouth-watering dishes, the live band belting out Hindi chart
busters would get you into the mood for a desi evening.
Similar promise comes from the exclusive Kebab Festival at the
Salzburg Street in Amrutha Castle. As chef K.K. Sinha puts it,
``It would be a gastronomic delight.'' He is promising to spice
up the evening with best of kebabs from North India. We are not
giving fancy names but we would be presenting them with the most
natural ingredients and mostly through live cooking so that one
knows the actual aroma and gets the finest taste.
The festival is not limited just to kebabs but rolls have also
been included in the menu. ``Rolls are popular in Eastern and
North Eastern parts of the country. We will show Hyderabadis why
they like them so much,'' the chef explains. It's the turn of
gourmets to check up and tell. The festival is open up to July
15.
So what if you miss kebabs. Check into Waterside Cafe at the Taj
Banjara to taste their latest addition - Mongolian Grill - to
their popular buffet. Santosh R. Kutty, F & B manager, says it
comes to Hyderabad for the first time and provides a unique
experience to a guest to prepare his own meal.
You can choose from an array of vegetables, meats, seasonings and
sauces and prepare a delightful meal interacting with the chef.
Mongolian grill food gives you the satisfaction of seeing your
combination of foods cooked right before you. Now, becoming a
chef was never so easy. The buffet is on from July 13 to 31
during dinner. Well, it's time to forget those painful diets!
