Trinamool crucial meeting today
KOLKATA JULY 15. The Trinamool Congress will hold its crucial
national working committee meeting tomorrow to apparently discuss
the issue of its return to the NDA.
``The meeting of our national working committee will be held
tomorrow. The agenda is the present political situation,'' the
party's policy-making body chief, Mr. Pankaj Banerjee, who is
also a member of the working committee, said.
According to party sources, the issue of the Trinamool Congress's
return to the NDA is likely to be the focal point of discussions
at the meeting.
The party will have to convey its decision on the issue to the
Lok Sabha Speaker before it sits for the monsoon session on July
23 so that the seating arrangements of its MPs could be made
accordingly.
All the party MPs attending the Trinamool Congress parliamentary
party meeting on July 12, authorised the party chief, Ms. Mamata
Banerjee, to take a decision on the issue, but did not set any
deadline for her. The dissident MP, Mr. Ajit Panja, who was not
invited to the meeting, termed it as ``illegal''.
