Dance - anew
IT IS said to be a concert of motion and imagination. And through
colour, fluid steps, fun and feeling, the Dancer's Company's (of
Brigham Young University) forthcoming production in Chennai hopes
to help people see dance in fresh light.
Called "Imaginaire", the acclaimed production will be staged in
Chennai, on August 11, 7.00 p.m., at the Music Academy. The show
will be presented by the Madras Musical Association which is
involved in promoting Western music and dance here.
Grace and precision are said to mark the ensemble's repertoire of
classical, jazz, lyrical and humorous numbers. Each work of the
Dancer's Company has a distinct flavour and have performed
extensively in the U.S., in fact twice at the Kennedy Centre for
Performing Arts in Washington. The troupe was also well-received
in Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Australia etc.
Under the artistic direction of Caroline Prohosky and the
assistance of Marilyn Berrett, the Company will tour various
cities in India. For further information contact 8252378.
