Film Review: Tum Bin
IN CONFESSION lies his absolution. However, before redemption
must come retribution. And the condemnation to go to bed with a
guilty conscience. Just dessert, one would say, for someone who
crushed a flower in full bloom under the wheels of his car. But
then matters of principle often take a backseat to matters of
heart. And the heart, as all of us know, knows no boundaries, it
finds succour in the unlikeliest of quarters. Here, it develops
into a silent romance between Shekhar and Piya - played by
Priyanshu and Sandali, the two newcomers in director Anubhav
Sinha's, ``Tum Bin'', which is the second Hindi film release of
the week.
However, Shekhar is unable to express his love, torn as he is
between the knowledge that he had accidentally killed Piya's
first suitor and the consequences of the exposure or acceptance
at any juncture. In between arrives Abhinav, a man with a million
rupees and a million-dollar heart who bails out Piya from
financial quagmire. Who does Piya accept?
``Tum Bin'', which relies completely on the acting prowess of
newcomers - Himanshu and Raakesh being the others - comes with a
surprise package. It comes in the shape of Priyanshu. He looks
good, acts okay and in general seems in control of the situation
on his debut. Watch ``Tum Bin'' when you are tired of all bullets
and badman phenomenon. You will not mind it.
